Low self-esteem brings low energy, creeping in to steal your confidence, peace of mind, and self-worth. It’s like having a torrid affair with doubt itself. The sweat beads rolling down your face tell the tale – you’re in bed with it! Enough! Time to rise up and face the reasons you’re still bound to low self-esteem. Grab your pen and write this down, as I’m about to hit the town with some truth. No more rhyming, let’s get real!

Feeling Low? You’re Not Alone

Ever felt so low in life that everyone else seems to be winning but you? Gaining or losing weight? Sleeping too little or too much? Struggling at work? Trying to fit into a world built on secrets and mysteries? It’s way too easy to lose yourself in society’s image, and I’ve been there too. But have you ever stopped to think about why you’re uncomfortable with being yourself? Here are FOUR reasons that helped me get my life together, and maybe you’ll see yourself in them too.

You are always comparing yourself to someone. Why does it matter what (she/he/they/her/it) is doing over there, it doesn’t have a thing to do with you! Do you have a clue what you are comparing yourself to? It’s very easy to get captivated into the perfect pictures painted on social media to persuade you into thinking you’re behind. Your mind starts to feel like you should upgrade your car, have that brand, live this lifestyle, invest in that venture, have that relationship goal. It brings forth feelings of conviction, feeling as if you are behind in life and everyone else is getting ahead besides you. It brings you creeping back in bed with that low self-esteem.

FOCUS ON YOUR GIFTS AND CREATE

The real work begins when you ask yourself, when am I going to Stop Comparing, Stop People and Pocket watching, and figure out what’s going on inside of me? Use this motto instead: “It takes low energy to compare, and it takes creative energy to be what you are called to be” The best way to stay focused on yourself is to find a hobby and set goals for your personal growth. Focus on what was given to you and create!

What have you been saying to yourself lately? What is your inner dialogue like daily? Your inner dialogue is sooo important. It’s the key to happiness, peace, and confidence. It’s the flow of life. What you say to yourself is wayyy more important than what others “perceive”. What are you saying to yourself? Are you Speaking Life or Death? Are you speaking from desires or fears?

When you’re creeping back to your fling after seeing how everyone’s life is going after comparing yourself, you rumble with inner conflict. Inner Conflict is when you’re beefing with yourself. That’s when fear, anger, jealousy, resentment, doubt, and insecurity seeps in. You start to sabotage yourself on the inside; I can’t do this. I look like a mess. I need to lose more weight. I can’t get the man I want. I wish I was more like that. I can never get this right. The most famous one of them all “If it ain’t one thing it’s another happening to me” Why can’t you talk to yourself in a way to make things happen for you? When was the last time you wrote down an affirmation? Write down an affirmation confidence statement.

Example: I am a beautiful woman fulfilling all my dreams. I am abundant and life gives me everything I need to succeed.

Talk your Positive talk and put yourself in a position to win within. Change your tone from within and watch how your confidence boost and low self-esteem runs dry. Stay committed to the conversation from within. Stay true to you. Stay grounded. Stay in your power and keep your inner dialogue creative, comfortable, and positive.

LAY YOUR GOALS DOWN NOT YOURSELF

Stuck in bed with low self-esteem? Maybe you’re watching others, down talking yourself, and feeding into low energy with NO GOALS. When I didn’t have goals set, I would scroll social media all day and watch other people live life as if I couldn’t create my own. I know you see them taking vacations, spending money, starting careers, building businesses, graduating from college, and the list of accolades your goal-oriented peers are accomplishing can go on. The question is when have you written down goals of your own?

What are you good at in life? What are the skills that can help build your lifestyle you want to live? Have you ever thought about a lifestyle you wanted to build? When you have a passion for something, it gives you drive and purpose. There was a time where I think we all had hopes, but no vision on getting there. Write it down. Stop sabotaging yourself by looking at everyone else that you perceive that’s winning and build the winner within you. Your goals may be different from your peers. Put yourself in gear to create your version of success. Set Goals. Plan. Smash. Repeat.

If I asked you who you love. Would you have ever named yourself? I know at one point of time I wouldn’t have ever thought to put my name down because I was too busy worrying about loving and catering to everyone else. People pleaser at its finest. It’s so hard to pour into someone when you are empty. Love yourself. Low self esteem goes hand in hand with lack of love for yourself.

Give yourself grace to make mistakes and learn. Give yourself grace to make room for your gifts. Give yourself grace to grow. Life is about love. Show love to your neighbors, but most of all love yourself. This life isn’t worth living without compassion and living low in condemnation with yourself is the worst war to engage in. Figure out what makes you feel loved and do that for yourself. When we put expectations on others to love us without giving ourselves that love we feel low.
